I was recently offered several free picket fence posts. Of course, I said YES! Now, I need to decide what to do with them.
In honor of the upcoming holiday Uncle Sam was my first project.
Who doesn’t like to save time and energy especially on laundry?
When we first moved in to this house two and a half years ago, this “beautiful” orange room was my sister’s. Even two years after she has moved out, we still call it “Aprils room”, however it should be named the “Junk Room”.
Let’s get one thing clear up front.
If you are looking for a home out of “Better Homes and Gardens” or any other magazine, this is not the blog post to see. We are a regular family with three teens, five cats, one dog and a gift for collecting things, and those things have accumulated. Many of them in our master bedroom.

To begin our journey into purging our home I chose to begin with my 14 year old daughter’s bedroom.
For those of you that don’t know-May was a very hard month for us. We had a few highs and a lot of lows.
This post wont have any crafts, decorating or thrifty ideas; instead it will be very personal and share the changes that are coming to the blog as our life changes (hopefully in a BIG way).
The good news is, I got to know our insurance company and their support team better than I ever wanted between the fire in March and the car accident at the end of May (don’t worry besides bruises and aches everyone is ok).
Both of these occurrences were actually blessings in disguise.
