When Your Savings Goals Hit a Roadblock & Leave You on Empty

When Your Savings Goals Hit a Roadblock & Leave You On Empty

Our 2016 Savings Goals Update

2016 has certainly been another year full of ups and downs, twists and turns, both in our home and businesses, but I am excited to say we survived!

For the first time ever, I decided to set some goals (not resolutions) for 2016, and I even left my comfort zone and shared them with you here.

I must confess that we fell short on many of those goals, especially our savings goals,  but I have yet to beat myself up for it because they are GOALS not requirements, not deadlines and not commitments.  Sometimes GOALS have to change or undergo some alterations due to physical, financial or emotional challenges, as Benjamin Mays says, “The tragedy of life doesn’t lie in not reaching your goal.  The tragedy lies in having NO goals to reach.”

Tragedy of life does not lie in not reaching your goals. The tragedy lies in having no goals to reach. Benjamin Mays

Heaven knows our goals have made some enormous U-turns in the past year.  The biggest and most obvious being the original goal of saving $5,000-$10,000 by the end of 2016.

How One Little Planner Has Changed My Life & Businesses

Do you feel out of control? I know I used to. This one litte planner changed by life and my businesses.

IF you know much about me, or follow this blog, you know I hate to spend money on ANYTHING.  I coupon, blog, take surveys, use apps and even borrow tools and things, so that I don’t have to spend my hubby’s hard-earned money.  I also like to be super organized and on top of things, but with our hectic life it was a constant struggle day in and day out, no matter what I tried. But once I began using this amazing little planner I began feeling empowered, organized, put together and on top of things, even though, in reality, my life is even busier than it was before.

Sharing Sunday #3 2015

Another wonderful week has passed at Treasured Tidbits and as always it was filled many ups and downs.

We started the week tackling the ornaments on the Christmas tree.   My son took them down (he wanted Subway and I made him earn it) and I packed them away in an organized manner the following day.  This year I “learned from Christmas past” and packed the kid’s ornaments in individual labeled boxes and bags so that next year’s decorating will run more smoothly.
