Today I want to introduce you to Front Porch Frank. He is our newest Scarecrow and my new best friend. He listens to my problems, doesn’t talk back and scares me every time I round the corner because I forget he’s there. Yep, it is an entertaining sight for the neighbors I’m sure since I tend to be deep in thought and suddenly I am squealing and grabbing my heart because there is a man sitting on my front porch. This is where I confess Frank has been in the same chair, same location for well over 2 weeks so I should be used to his company, but those boots still surprise me every.single.time.

We decided that stocking up on drinks last month was a great idea. It reduced the amount of extra store trips we made considerably, and helped me manage the overall grocery budget better. Because of our drink requirements and limitations it takes a considerable amount of our monthly grocery budget ($150/$500). This month I was able to splurge on the Starbucks Drinks (.50 each) with the money we saved buying in bulk at the beginning of the month. Besides, it is a much cheaper to put in the fridge and take on doctor’s trips than buying something on the road, and it makes a nice, refreshing treat for the teens and hubby.

As many of you know my oldest daughter and I are unable to work “regular” 9-5 jobs due to our health issues and the need to be with my youngest, who has even more extreme health issues, so to compensate we have added some “side jobs” we can do from home, a hospital room or even my family’s when we are visiting.
Because we began our new direct sales business with Clever Container and my youngest had some major setbacks we spent VERY little time on “side jobs” but we still earned a bit.
